Cavalcade At The Park

The best of the NHRA Top Alcohol Dragster and Top Alcohol Funny Car field will make their first assault on the Summit Motorsports Park quarter mile for 2008 at the 2nd Annual B’laster PB50 Cavalcade of Stars presented by Budweiser, next weekend, May 16-18. Last year, Frank Manzo in Funny Car and Bill Reichert in Dragster not only won their respective fields here, but also went on to win the NHRA national championships. National championship caliber racing is what you can expect right here next weekend, and that’s just the tip of the iceberg! Jill Canuso will be making her debut here in the “Queen of Diamonds” jet powered dragster along the jet powered dragsters of Elaine Larson, Ernie Bogue, and Dick Rosberg. Two women face off against two men to see who will walk away with the title for the weekend. To celebrate that 300-mile per hour challenge, all females will be admitted to Summit Motorsports Park for free on Saturday, May 17.
In addition to all that, the very best of the NHRA Division 3 sportsman racers will be here in force to vie for top honors in their classes. That includes the dynamic field of racers that inhabit Summit Motorsports Park on a regular basis. After all, we do have some of the hottest drag racers in the NHRA right here every weekend. The wheelstanding “Cool Bus” will make exhibition passes side by side with the “Firetruck” in a display of rear wheel only fun. Topping off the Saturday show will be one of Summit Motorsports Park’s famous fireworks shows!
