Charger Band Leads Off Saturday's Show

May 14, 2008

When Summit Motorsports Park holds it’s opening ceremony on Saturday, May 17, at the 2nd Annual B’laster PB50 Cavalcade of Stars presented by Budweiser, our guests will be treated to a live music tribute to U.S. Veterans and an Armed Services Salute by way of one of the best marching bands in the country. Edison High School's “Charger” Marching Band, from Milan, Ohio, will perform a dedicated routine that will include a live performance of the National Anthem. The Edison Marching Band has received accolades for their performances from all corners of the United States. Over the years the Charger Band has performed pregame and halftime shows for the Cleveland Browns on 4 different occasions including last year. They have marched twice in the Philadelphia Thanksgiving Day Parade and in Washington D.C. They have traveled twice to Florida to march in the Fort Myers Festival of Lights Parade in honor of Thomas Edison. The band also traveled to sunny California in the fall of 2002 to march in the nationally televised Hollywood Christmas Parade over Thanksgiving weekend. With a band of that caliber, our guests can expect one more outstanding feature added to the already packed Saturday show!

The Edison High School “Charger” Marching Band will be one of the very first features presented on Saturday, and their planned performance fits perfectly in light of the fact that Saturday is also Armed Forces Day. In addition to the marvelous show that can be expected from the band, our guests will be treated to the jet dragsters, wheelstanders, Top Alcohol Dragsters and Funny Cars, and the full range of the hottest sportsman racers in the country. You can be sure that the 2nd Annual B’laster PB50 Cavalcade of Stars presented by Budweiser will be the best show in the Midwest this weekend. Saturday features free admission for every female coming through the gate. Get ready for the first big three-day event of the 2008 racing season! Call the Summit Motorsports Park office at 419-668-5555 to order your tickets.
