Jet Engine Flame-Out
Cinco de Mayo, 2008
Every once in a while, no matter how great our plans are, things just don’t work out the way we want them to. Such is the case with one of our advertised features for the 2008 season. We had planned to have the world’s only jet powered school bus at the B’laster Cavalcade of Stars presented by Budweiser, and at PINKS: All Out presented by Full Throttle Kustomz. Do to unforeseen problems, the bus will not be able to appear at either of those shows. Now, we’ve all experienced the headaches involved when we’re trying to add a few goodies to our cars to make them a little quicker and faster. Sometimes those bolt on out-of-the-box goodies just don’t fit the way they’re supposed to. Imagine trying to shoehorn a J79 jet engine into a full sized school bus. There isn’t anything in the world that’s bolt on about that power upgrade!
Unfortunately, the project has ground to an untimely halt with unforeseen problems of construction. Apparently, no matter how much it was massaged, the bus just refused to take on the personality of a jet fighter plane. Therefore, we are reluctantly forced to withdraw the bus from the entry list for both of those upcoming shows. We have, in both cases, replaced the bus with some other jet powered attractions, so those that were looking forward to getting their noses filled with jet fuel fumes will still be able to do so. We apologize to our fans that were looking forward to seeing the bus. If the monster is brought to life, you’ll be the first to see it.
