PINKS: ALL OUT FILLS 400 ENTRIES IN 12 MINUTES

December 11, 2007

“IN MY 30 YEARS OF DRAG RACING, I HAVE NEVER EXPERIENCED THE EXTRAORDINARY DEMAND FOR A TICKET LIKE I DID ON THAT MONDAY FOR PINKS!” SAYS TRACK PRESIDENT BADER.

Demand to be a competitor in next year’s PINKS: All Out shoot at Norwalk’s Summit Motorsports Park reached a fever pitch at noon on Dec. 3, as the 400 available slots sold out in 12 minutes. PINKS: All Out, the popular spin-off show to SPEED hit reality series, PINKS: All Out, is slated to make its inaugural appearance in the state of Ohio on June 7, 2008. The track is located just outside Norwalk, Ohio, and will host multiple large-scale drag race and automotive events in 2008, including the Summit Racing Equipment NHRA Nationals (June 26-29); the popular ‘Night Under Fire’ (Aug. 2) and the Goodguys Blue Suede Cruise (Sept. 5-7). Even among these headliners, a PINKS: All Out shoot has still managed to stand out.

“In my 30 years of drag racing, I have never experienced the extraordinary demand for a ticket like I did on that Monday for PINKS: All Out,” said Summit Motorsports Park President Bill Bader, Jr. “The phone company estimated that we received nearly 10,000 calls in one hour alone, while our website was getting hit at a rate of over 100 per second. We came into work on Monday to find fans camped-out waiting for tickets to go on sale. The day was just unbelievable.”

Hosted by creator and executive producer Rich Christensen, and produced by Pullin Television out of Los Angeles, PINKS: All Out offers grassroots drag racers the opportunity to win a lion’s share of an $18,000 purse and a brand new NAPA tool chest (worth $8,000). PINKS: All Out technical advisors Nate and Adam Pritchett evaluate competitors throughout two time trial sessions, using an objective process to select a group of 16 cars whose elapsed times produces the closest heads-up races.

The PINKS: All Out at-track experience is different from the television show; as a whole day of entertainment is planned both on and off track. Each shoot is designed to take on a ‘day at the fair-like atmosphere, and is meant for the entire family.

“Drag racing is a communal experience that transcends just the racers,” said Robert Ecker, SPEED VP of Programming and one of the show’s Executive Producers. “As a live event, PINKS: All Out embraces and celebrates that entire community and its grassroots origins. Its fast, its fun and it’s family-friendly. We encourage everyone to come on out to the track and enjoy themselves along with us.”
