Ashley Force ‘First Win’ Top Alcohol Dragster Now Available from Norwalk Raceway Park

Reaching her first victory at twenty-one years of age- Ashley Force has begun her domination in drag racing much earlier than her legendary father, NHRA Nitro Funny Car driver John Force.

Force, a former high school cheerleader, graduate of California State- Fullerton, and Hot Rod’s Magazine Favorite “Real Women in Hot Rodding,” is following in her father’s footsteps both on and off the track.  After notching her first win at the Mac Tools U.S. Nationals in Indianapolis, Force went on to win the Division IV Championship.  She finished her first season with three national event wins and was named NHRA Driver of the Year and Rookie of the Year.

Ashley Force is quickly laying the framework of her own legendary career.  And who knows- at twenty-two, she could be the only current driver with enough power and time to catch John Force in total event wins.  Dad currently stands at 115.

To commemorate her first national event win at Indy, John Force Racing and Norwalk Raceway Park is releasing an exclusive replica of her A-Fuel Mattel Toy Store dragster.

Milestone Development has manufactured a limited set of 1500 cars.  Construction consists of over 300 highly detailed parts, including a tall nosed body with one-piece wing and lift off body panels to show chassis and interior details.  All features and decals specifically match Force’s 2004 car.

Don’t miss the opportunity to own Ashley’s first National Event Win car!

The John Force “Legends” Car Featuring Bill Bader

When Norwalk Raceway Park President Bill Bader, Jr. raised the idea of a “Drag Racing Legend” car with John Force for the 2005 Night Under Fire, Force replied with his only choice of whom to honor first.

Bill Bader, Sr.

The car, unveiled at Night Under Fire, drew thunderous applause not heard since “The Norwalk Experience” was unveiled four years ago as a tribute to the greatest spectacle in drag racing and the brainchild of Bill Bader, Sr.

The car, run solely at Night Under Fire at Norwalk Raceway Park has been issued as an exclusive diecast from Action Performance Collectibles featuring the likeness of Bill Bader, Sr. and a an expansive crowd shot of the packed stands at Norwalk Raceway on the side with the words, “Drag Racing Legend.”

The car is for sale only at Norwalk Raceway in 1/24th scale and 1/16th.  2508 1/24th scales have been manufactured and 300 1/16th.  The 1/16th scale is already sold out and for more information about the 1/24th scale, contact Norwalk at 419-668-5555 or by ordering online.

Bader was completely caught off guard by the honor.  In fact, his main concern when they called him out of the timing tower to the track was the skydivers that were to jump at his direction.

“I kept thinking, ‘what am I doing out here?’” Bader said afterwards.  “My son is reading some introduction about the car and I kept thinking about the skydivers and who was going to tell them when to jump.  Then Billy mentioned Norwalk Dragway and a conversation I had with Foster Cather and then I see the car and I thought, “Oh, (%*&#!)”

“Everything was a blur after that.”

Before the unveiling, Bill Bader, Jr. read an introduction revealing a moment in Bader’s life that he almost gave up on his new venture in drag racing.  He came upon the man he purchased Norwalk Dragway from in a parking lot of the Sandusky Speedway in 1975 and admitted he was “failing.” The track was draining his time, his energy, and his finances.

Foster Cather told him to get a hold of himself before he was driven into the ground.

At that moment, no one could see the facility he would build, or the “experience” he would design.  Decades later, Bill Sr. hung a sign above the entrance to the IHRA World Headquarters that epitomized the moment in his life where he almost threw in the towel.

“Success means getting up one more time.”

Thank God for drag racing he did.
